Improvement, whether it’s weight loss or fitness, is about creating something or giving something up.

A person may “diet” until they lose 30 pounds, and then they are done. Once they reach their number, they stop what they did that got them there. For permanent results, a lifestyle needs to be developed over the long run. With reinforcement, an event will become a commitment. Once it becomes a habit, it becomes part of your identity, and the lifestyle is installed.

People are reaching new heights all the time. It’s never too late to begin, or too soon. Think Do you want to wear a new size? Start working toward it today. Want to reduce your bodyfat? Start with the goal of dropping 1% this month. Reaching goals is about small steps linked together to create a large journey. It might take days, weeks, or years. But with perseverance, ambition and a plan, you can do it!

Be Grateful

How often do we remember the people that have helped give us opportunities? It is easy to take things for granted.

Take the time to be grateful for the day to day things we sometimes forget. Let someone else know that you truly appreciate their efforts.

Look for Reasons Why You Can

It’s been said that some of the smartest people make bad inventors. How is this? The problem is that some people are so full of knowledge they can easily predict all of the problems, barriers and obstacles they’ll need to move through to reach an objective. They can think of all kinds of reasons why something won’t work. When you absolutely know you’re going to accomplish something, do you focus on the reasons why, or the reasons why not? To reach your objectives, you have to really, really want them. More importantly, you have to have faith that you can do it.
